Chase's escape route
As many of you know I can't stand how windy it is out here. It is nothing for us to 25mph-35mph on any given day. Well a few weeks ago we had some really strong winds come through. The winds were 55mph. At some point one section of my fence had opened enough for our dog to escape. I had checked on him at lunch time and he was in the backyard. Then when the kids went out to play when Shayne got home they came back in crying saying the dog was gone. This lead to first driving all over the neighborhood. Then I actually walked the whole neighborhood with the kids looking for the dog. When I couldn't find him I called Matt and he came home to help look for him. Unfortunately animal control was closed for the day so they couldn't tell us if they had him. Finally the next day at lunch time they notified us that they indeed had picked the dog up the day before.(As Casey will tell you Chase went to "puppy jail") After paying a lovely fine we were able to get the dog back. Of course as soon as we got home he desperately needed a bath and then he came in and slept for a long time. With the fence broke the dog had to stay inside.(Matt opened it more in hopes the dog would come back the night he was missing and then the wind finished it off)
Then on Sunday the back section of our fence also broke. It took about a week, but Matt was able to repair the fence. I was very excited to be able to put the dog back outside without having to worry about him getting out. In between it being repaired the dog did break his leash and take a short tour of the neighborhood. Then one day the kids let him out and I had to chase him around the block before I could catch him. Needless to say I was not thrilled in the least.
Here is a video of the back fence
